Identification
17 cm
- Rufous front, crown and nape
- Dark olive upperside and tail
- Black throat and blackish sides of head
- Dusky-yellow underside with some black speckling on breast and flanks
Distribution
South America: found in the subtropical Andes of south-eastern Peru (Cuzco and Puno) and just into northernmost Bolivia
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Found at slopes with humid forest and scrub at 1400-3200 m asl.
Behaviour
Finds its food on or near the ground
