Identification

15 cm (6 in)

  • Brown over-all plumage
  • White throat
  • Brownish-grey breastband

Distribution

Asia: found in southern peninsula Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Java; Northern Natuna Islands

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Formerly placed in genus Rhinomyias.

Habitat

Dry evergreen lowland forests, both primary and secondary. Also coastal peat-swamp forests.

Behaviour

Diet

Little is known about their diet, but they do eat small invertebrates.
