Identification

A brown bird, shaggy black crest, orange beak and legs.

Distribution

Seychelles.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Forests, scrub and gardens.

Behaviour

It builds a circular nest of palm fibres, twigs and grass, in trees and scrubland and 2 white spotted eggs are laid. They are incubated for 15 days and fledging occurs 21 days after hatching.

The diet includes fruits, insects, lizards and bird eggs.
