ViewsLemon-bellied FlyrobinFrom OpusAlternative name: Lemon-bellied Flycatcher
[edit] IdentificationBill and legs dark grey. Upperparts are dull olive, and underparts are washed lemon with the exception of a white throat. Lores are whitish, but the eye-brow that is shown in some field guides cannot be seen on all photos, and if shown varies from whitish to yellowish. The tail is lightly forked. [edit] DistributionAustralia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea [edit] TaxonomySeven subspecies are recognized: flavigaster, tarara, laeta, terraereginae, flavissima, laetissima, and tormenti. Several of these have been proposed for splitting into monotypic species (but this is not widely accepted); for example would tormenti become Brown-tailed Flyrobin. [edit] HabitatForests and mangrove forests [edit] BehaviourBehave exactly as Australian Robins do: perching in some prominent but ill-lit location, scanning the ground for tasty morsels and keeping beautifully still for the camera.
