[edit] Identification

20-22cm. Dark greenish grey, creamy yellow gape. Large, yellowish crescent-shaped ear patches. In flight, has pale yellow edges of the flight feathers. Black bill and blue-grey eye. Young birds are similar but have brown eyes.

Rainforest and open woodland.

Diet includes fruits, favouring berries and small fruits, insects and nectar.

Its nest is a large cup of vegetation and other materials, bound together with spider web and lined with soft material. 2-3 oval eggs are laid and are incubated for about 14 days and the young birds leave the nest after a further 14 days.
