[edit] OverviewThis is a pleasant lodge set in a shade-grown coffee farm with access to cloud forest and nice secondary woodland. [edit] Birds[edit] Notable SpeciesMy wife and I were guests here in May 2006, and had a very nice time. the local guide, Josu de Len Lux, was enthusiastic and knowledgeble. They arranged for the two of us to be picked up and returned to Guatemala City. We were the only guests while we were there, and were treated like royalty. We saw many nice birds, including Tody Motmot, Northern Potoo, White-winged Tanager and Yellow-winged Tanager. We missed the Azure-rumped Tanager that is said to be here, and the Horned Guan. You need to make special arrangements to go high enough on the volcano to see the Guan. [edit] RaritiesTo do [edit] Check-listBirds you can see here include:

[edit] Reviewstomjenner's review I agree that this is a great spot. I have been twice and include more details on my website mayanbirding.com. I have seen a number of very good regional specialties here and you can see two of the most sought after birds in Guatemala, which are Horned Guan and Azure-rumped Tanager. Pros
