Identification

Length 12-14 cm. Yellow underparts and eyebrow; olive crown, nape and back.

Similar to the African Yellow Warbler, but the crown does not contrast with the nape and back.

Distribution

Africa: Southern South Sudan, mountains of eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, northeastern Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, and northern Malawi

Taxonomy

Monotypic.
Formerly placed in genus Chloropeta.

Habitat

Tropical moist montane thickets, forest edges, lightly wooded gullies and scrub.

Behaviour

The song is loud and melodic and the alarm call is a harsh cha cha.
