Overview
Murchison Falls National Park is located in the northwest of Uganda and is 600 square miles (1,500 km²) in size. Murchison Falls were formed when the River Nile was forced through two fissures in the rocks, the upper one measuring only 24 feet (7 metres) wide and the lower one 120 feet (36½ metres). The park has a variety of habitats, from grassy plains and savannah woodlands to riverine.
