Nederland, Colorado. The elevation is 8200 feet. The lake is in town and is large with ducks, Double-crested Cormorants and possible bird of prey.

The stream that feeds the lake is fast flowing and has American Dippers, and a variety of swallows. The stream is lined with willows and holds some warblers. A trail follows the stream through the willows. The water treatment plant is next door so take a look at it too.

This town is just off 119 between I70 and Rocky Mountain National Park. The recreation area has picnic tables and park benches. This area also holds lots of sparrows.
