Alternative name: Madagascar Bee-eater

Identification

Seems to be a quite variable species.

Breeds in Madagascar, northern Namibia, Angola and the Zambezi valley. Non-breeding distribution includes other parts of tropical Africa.

Riverbanks, rice paddies, forest clearings.
