Distribution

Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Taxonomy

Seven subspecies are recognized[1]:

  • C. g. melanogenia
  • C. g. gulielmitertii
  • C. g. nigrifrons
  • C. g. ramuensis
  • C. g. fuscifrons
  • C. g. amabilis
  • C. g. suavissima

Subspecies nigrifrons and melanogenia are considered full species by some authorities.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
