With 13cm a medium-sized Swiftlet. Grey-brown upperparts, pale grey-brown underparts and rump, slightly darker undertail-coverts, slightly forked tail.

Endemic to Palawan, an island in the Philippines.
Common, but a bird with a small range.

Like other Aerodramus Swiftles this species is often placed in Collocalia.
By some authors considered to be a subspecies of Uniform Swiftlet. Belongs to the superspecies of Mossy-nest Swiftlet, Palau Swiftlet, Guam Swiftlet, Uniform Swiftlet and Caroline Swiftlet.

Usually found over moist lowland forest, but also over open country.

[edit] Behaviour

Feeds on insects, taken in flight. Gregarious and often seen with other Swiftlets or Swift.
Breeds in colonies in caves and is capable of echolocation.
Resident.
