Male
- Black crown with bluish sheen
- White lores and lower forehead
Distribution
South America: found in Venezuela, Guyana, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized1:
- X. a. albinucha:
- X. a. minor:
- Locally in western and central Venezuela and extreme northern Brazil (Roraima)
Habitat
Forests, riparian brush and open wetlands.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet hasn't been well studied, but it is known that they eat some insects.
Breeding
They construct a cup-shaped nest.
