Distribution

Africa:
Western Africa: Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo
Eastern Africa: Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique and Malawi

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are two subspecies[1]:

  • C. r. striatipectus:
  • Mountains of southern Sudan to southern Ethiopia and central highlands of Kenya - split as Abyssinian Canary by Dickinson
  • C. r. reichardi:

Habitat

Dry savanna. Miombo woodland and areas of granite inselbergs.
