Reserva Provincial Lagunas de Yala - BirdForum Opus

Overview

21 Km north of San Salvador de Jujuy - NW Argentina. It lies on the route to the prepuna and puna and if you're choice of destination is to visit the towns of Purmamarca, Tilcara, Humahuaca, Abra Pampa, Iruya, La Quiaca or Yavi, this is a very nice place to see a little bit of Cloud Forest and it's transition to the prepuna.

You could see Rufous-throated Dipper, Torrent Duck, Mitred Parakeet, Mountain Wren and other typical Argentinian Cloud Forest.

Hoy's Screech-Owl, Red-faced Guan, Lyre-tailed Nightjar, Slender-tailed Woodstar, Rufous-throated Dipper, Torrent Duck 1

This reserve lies 21 Km north of the city of San Salvador de Jujuy in the province of Jujuy, NW Argentina.

You could stay at hotels in the city of S.S. de Jujuy or at the town of Yala or at the termal waters of Reyes.

Access it's easy by car or with a taxi.
