Distribution

South eastern Brazil.

Taxonomy

Clements regards this as a monotypic species [2].
It was formerly placed in the genus Myrmotherula.

It has been proposed that this taxon should be transferred to the monotypic genus Rhopias[1]

Habitat

Moist lowland forests moist montanes.
