Identification

Distribution

Burundi, Cameroon, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Francolinus.

Habitat

Stony hillsides with sparse grass and shrub cover, and wooded grasslands.
