[edit] Access and Facilities

I-90 West to Rockford. Take the Highway 173 Exit. Go West for one-half mile to the Park Entrance. 1

Suprisingly, the trails (not the bike paths) are almost always empty so birding can be a relaxing endeavor in a city of 150,000 .

The park opening hours are: Summer hours (April - October) 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Winter hours (November - March) 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 1
