[edit] Identification

14-15.5 cm. Pale pinky-rufous patch on the throat and upper breast, dull brownish-grey plumage, paler head and face, dark wings and tail. At the base of the primary feathers on the rounded wings there is a broad, white band, visible when the bird is in flight or flicking its wings. The bill and legs are both dark grey.

Fast-flowing rocky mountain streams and rivers, cascades, waterfalls, rocky cliffs and banks.
