Asia: found in Japan, Taiwan
Southeast Asia: Philippines, Luçon.

There are 4 subspecies:
- Ryukyu Islands (southern Japan)
- Daito Islands (southern Japanese Archipelago)
- Lan-yü Island (off south-eastern Taiwan)
