Sekororo lies in Limpopo Province at the foothills of the northern Drakensberg mountains. The area is surrounded by game farms and nature reserves. 500 bird species occur in the area.

Tzaneen and the Magoebas kloof is 60km to the north-west and a good birding area as well.

Nearby towns are Hoedspruit, Tzaneen and Phalaborwa. The Kruger National Park has two gates, Orpen, which is 130km away and Phalaborwa, which is 95km away.
