13.5-14.5cm.

• Pale yellowish-olive above
• Pale greyish-yellow below, cleanest on rear flanks and side of lower underbody
• Yellowish-brown to pinkish-brown bare skin on lores and below and behind lower rear part of eye
• Fine white flecking across lores
• Indistinct greyish-white to silvery spot on rear ear-coverts behind bare eye-patch
• Black bill with yellow-brown base of lower mandible and yellow gape

Sexes apparently alike, male probably larger. Juveniles undescribed.

Found in Indonesia on Halmahera, Damar, Gebe, the West Papuan Islands (Waigeo, Schildpad, Misool), Lusaolate and most probably Seram.
A rare and local restricted-range species, not well known.

This is a monotypic species.
The described subspecies patasiwa from Lusaolate Island is generally not recognized.

Found in coastal trees, palms and scrub.

[edit] Behaviour

Feeds on nectar and fruit.
Forages singly, in pairs or small groups in casuarinas, at flowers of coconut palms and papaya trees and in other fruiting trees.
No information about breeding.
Probably a resident species.
