Identification
Olive-brown above, white wing-bars,white to pale grey throat and breast, pale yellow belly, dark iris. Bill variable according to race: northern birds with black upper mandible and pale brown lower, southern birds pinkish to orange lower mandible while the upper mandible is brownish.
Distribution
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Taxonomy
Four subspecies are recognized.[1]
Habitat
Forests to clearings and edges, including both humid and drier areas in different parts of the range.
Behaviour
Southern populations are migratory, moving north in Austral winter.
