Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay.
Taxonomy
Subspecies simoni may be split as "Araguaia Spinetail", S. simoni, leaving subspecies albilora as "White-lored Spinetail", S. albilora (strict sense).
Subspecies
Taxa we include here which Clements recognises [1]:
- S. a. albilora: Eastern Bolivia (eastern Santa Cruz) to interior southwestern Brazil and northern Paraguay
- S. a. simoni: "Araguaia Spinetail". Pantanal of western Brazil (Araquaia Valley)
Habitat
Moist lowland forests.
