17 cm. Brown upperparts, grey crown and nape, black barred mantle, brown throat and ear coverts, white malar stripe, white lower belly is whitish,grey barred flanks and the breast.

Critically Endangered (however, the description in Restall1 and in the Birdlife website2 of original location, later searches, etc. differ quite a bit)..
