The species just known as Troupial has now been split in three species:

Venezuelan Troupial Icterus icterus is found in northern South America in northern Venezuela and Colombia, Trinidad, the southern Dutch Antilles, and Puerto Rico (as introduced)
Campo Troupial Icterus jamacaii is found in eastern Brazil
Orange-backed Troupial Icterus croconotus is found in most of the range of the combined species with exceptions of the ranges mentioned above.
