Found in eastern Indonesia: Lesser Sundas, Kai Islands and Tanimbar Islands. Also in Timor-Leste.

Clements accepts six subspecies:

C. p. pollens on the Kai Islands
C. p. floris on Sumbawa, Komodo, Rinca, Besar and Flores
C. p. alfrediana on Lomblen and Alor
C. p. sumbensis on Sumba
C. p. personata on Roti, Semau, Timor, Wetar, Leti, Moa, Sermata
C. p. unimoda on the Tanimbar Islands.
