Prinia leucopogon

Identification

Length 13 cm
Grey with a white throat and blackish face-patch from bill to ear coverts.

Distribution

Africa
Western Africa: Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, DRC, Angola
Eastern Africa: Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia

Taxonomy

Subspecies[1]

Schistolais leucopogon has two subspecies:

  • S. l. leucopogon
  • Eastern Nigeria to middle Ubangi River and western side of Lake Tanganyika
  • S. l. reichenowi

Habitat

Forest edges, thickets interspersed with large trees. Farmland and gardens.
