This is a monotypic species.
Formerly placed in genus Basileuterus.

[edit] Habitat

Moist or flooded lowland forests, mostly gallery forest.

[edit] Behaviour

Breeding season seems to be September to January. This species builds a globular nest with a side entrance, which is placed on the ground. The eggs are pale beige with brown spotting and banding, with two seemingly a litter.
