[edit] Identification

20 cm. All-black, white eye, brown vent, bright yellow legs and feet. Female a duller version of male and lacks green sheen. Juvenile is brownish overall with shadow of yellow collar and olive on belly and vent. Pale flesh legs.

Democratic Republic of Congo.

[edit] Taxonomy

This species has in the past been named Yellow-legged Malimbe (Malimbus flavipes) but is now considered to belong in genus Ploceus.

Lowland rainforests.

The diet includes caterpillars.
