History and Use

Aruba is a small (19.6 x 6 miles), windy, hot, arid southern Caribbean island about 15 miles north of the Venezuelan coast. Although it is located in the southern Caribbean, its bird fauna is more similar to that of Venezuela than the rest of the Caribbean.
