Identification

Grey-brown upperparts
Blackish head
Orange-buff underparts
White throat with blackish streaks
Yellow eye-ring
Yellow bill and legs

Juvenile is spotted below and on its back

Distribution

Central and southern Chile, southern Argentina and the Falkland Islands.

Taxonomy

Subspecies^[1]

There are 3 subspecies:

T. f. pembertoni:

South-central Argentina (RÃo Negro and NeuquÃ©n)

T. f. magellanicus:

Southern Chile and southern Argentina to Tierra del Fuego; Juan FernÃ¡ndez Island

T. f. falcklandii:

Falkland Islands

Habitat

Forest, farmland, gardens.
