Identification

South America: found in tropical south-eastern Colombia and Ecuador to north-eastern Peru and extreme western Brazil.

This is a monotypic species^[1].
Formerly placed in genus Ocyalus by Gill and Donsker^[2].

Moist lowland forests and swamps.
