Big Lake

Overview

West of St. Albert, Alberta. Big Lake is a recognized Important Bird Area near Edmonton, Alberta. It is especially significant in the migration periods.

In 2005, the Great Egret nested way out of its normal range at Big Lake. It recently gained provincial park status.
