Identification

Distribution

Found on several of the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

Taxonomy

Two subspecies are recognized2:

  • S. b. barbatus:
  • S. b. malaitae:
  • Malaita (Solomon Islands)

Formerly placed in genus Monarcha.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
