Head and underparts yellow with black lores, crown washed olive in all except adult male, undertail coverts whitish. Hind-neck and upperparts olive, wings and tail blue-gray with 2 whitish wingbars, white tail-spots. [edit] HybridizationInterbreeds with Golden-winged Warbler, producing two main plumage types: 'Brewster's Warbler' and 'Lawrence's Warbler'. [edit] DistributionBreeds eastern North America from southern Minnesota east to New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut south to Arkansas in the western part of its range, east across Michigan, southern Ontario, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania; winters eastern Mexico to central Panama. Rare vagrant in the west, mostly to Colorado and California. [edit] TaxonomyThis is a monotypic species.
