Identification

  • Buffy-brown
  • Dark streaks
  • Short, thick bill

Distribution

Patchily distributed in the Indian subcontinent: found in Nepal, Pakistan and India.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Tall grassland, reeds, riverine, swamps, thorny scrub or ricefields.
