Often shows a well developed white eye-ring

Distribution

Southeast Asia: Indonesia
Australasia: Papua New Guinea, Saint Matthias Islands, Melanesia, and the Solomon Islands.

• G. b. beccarii:

• Mountains of New Guinea

• G. b. johannae:

• Bismarck Archipelago (Karkar and Nissan)

• G. b. eichhorni:

• St. Matthias Islands (Mussau and Emira)

• G. b. admiralitatis:

• Manus Island (Admiralty Islands)

• G. b. intermedia:

• Western Solomon Islands (Bougainville, Gizo and New Georgia Group)

• G. b. solomonensis:

• Eastern Solomon Islands (Guadalcanal, Makira, Santa Ana, Rennell)

Habitat

Moist montanes and forests.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes seeds.
