Members are also often called Brush-Finches.

[edit] Taxonomy

Buarremon is a genus in the family Emberizidae. Members of the genus Buarremon was for a while included in Atlapetes before being brought back to Buarremon. The SACC has passed a proposal to merge this genus into Arremon1 which is how it is treated by Clements.
