Description
This genus contains only one species, the Black-and-yellow Silky-flycatcher.
An unusual Silky-Flycatcher with a relatively short tail and a thrush-like appearance.
Taxonomy
Phainoptila is a genus in the family Ptiliogonatidae.
Some authors have questioned the placement of this species in this family. The believe it may be closely related to the Thrushes Turdidae.
