Genus: Ptilocichla

[edit] Description

This genus contains three species of Wren-Babblers from the Philippines and Borneo, often called Ground-Babblers. They have:

  • rather long, hook-tipped bills
  • very short weak rictal bristles
  • powerful legs and feet
  • a distinctive plumage pattern

[edit] Taxonomy

Ptilocichla is a genus in the Family Pellorneidae.
It was formerly included in the family Timaliidae.
