Genus: Sialia

[edit] Description

A genus of thrushes, these are the popularly named Bluebirds of the New World. They are medium sized passerines, insectivorous or omnivorous, and are are cavity nesters. Their populations have suffered greatly due to competition from the introduced House Sparrow, which can kill Bluebirds.
