Genus: Spelaeornis

Description

This genus contains nine Wren Babblers from SE-Asia. These are tiny members of the Babbler family with:

  • Rounded tail with only ten feathers
  • Soft full plumage
  • Narrow short bill with a downward-sloping culmen
  • Rather long delicate toes
  • Loud mechanical song

Taxonomy

Spelaeornis is a genus in the Family Timaliidae.
Spotted Elachura was formerly included in this genus.
