Members of this genus are found from Mexico to South America.

Thryothorus is a genus in the Family Troglodytidae. Results discussed in a SACC proposal[1] indicates that this genus is not a natural entity, but that when further clarification is reached, this genus probably needs to be split into 2-4 genera.
