South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina,

There are 3 subspecies^[1]:

• C. s. amazonum:

• Eastern Colombia to south-western Venezuela, the Guianas, northern Brazil and eastern Peru

• C. s. guaricola:

• Tropical central Venezuela (eastern Guárico and western Anzoátegui)

• C. s. speciosum:

• South-eastern Peru (Puno) to eastern Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina

Lowland moist forests.

[edit] Behaviour

It builds a cup shaped nest from leaves. The clutch consists of 3 bluish-green, brown spotted eggs.
