Sporophila cinnamomea

Identification

10cm (4 in).

  • Rufous brown
  • Grey crown
  • Grey edged wings
  • White patch near base of primaries
  • Dark grey bill, legs and feet

Female - duller

Distribution

South America: found from Paraguay to south-central Brazil, Uruguay and north-eastern Argentina.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Wet lowland grassland and marshes with tall grasses.
