Identification
Male 27–31 cm; female 26–32 cm
- Slate-grey crown
- Chestnut upperparts
Distribution
Central America: found in humid montane forests of Costa Rica and western Panama.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Sometimes placed in the genus Zentrygon.
Habitat
Understorey of moist montane forests.
Behaviour
Diet
Ground feeders, their diet consists of seeds, insects and fallen fruit.
