Identification

  • Metallic green above
  • Red belly
  • Long white undertail
  • Small yellow bill

Distribution

South America: found from the Andes of western Venezuela through Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to central Bolivia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Cloud forests.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes mainly berries and fruit, though some invertebrates and insects are also taken.
