13-17cm.

  • Males larger
  • Dull green brown upperparts
  • Grey underparts with an olive hue
  • Silver grey cheeks
  • Dark grey crown
  • Long, downcurved, black bill

There are 5 subspecies.

Scrub, forest, mangroves and gardens.

[edit] Behaviour

The diet includes insects, spiders, nectar and pollen.

The nest is built from grass and plant fibres, held together by spider webs. 2 white, red spotted eggs are laid are incubated for 14 days. The young fledge after 12 days.
