Identification
10–11 cm (4-4¼ in)
- Dark grey crown
- Whitish broken eyering
- Whitish lores
Distribution
Central America: found in the arid highlands of south-western Mexico (south-eastern Jalisco to Oaxaca)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Dry and semi-dry shrubland, maybe mixed with oak trees and along stream sides.
Behaviour
Secretive and skulking.
Diet
Their diet is little recorded. They forage low down in bushes.
Breeding
The male helps to incubate the eggs.
